Message These are not like domestic set ups.....
Domestic engines make instant torque,the convertors are typically built loose.
I have had domestic high stalls where the car would not move until it was close to the stall speed, these are not that way.
These are tight convertors that only hit the stall speed if you lean against them hard. The little 3 liter V6 has no power without boost and can not push hard against the convertor, so they require high stall to launch them.
Even with a 4000 stall these convertors will pull the car at 1000 to 1500 RPM at light throttle without issue. When you lean into the convertor and build boost it will get to the stall speed.
These convertors also have lock up clutches inside them, so on the freeway they have zero slip and are locked tight like a stick.
